This production of THE MATCHMAKER By John B. Keane, developed for the stage by Phyllis Ryan and Michael Scott, directed by Michael Scott first opened in Dublin in January 2001 with Anna Manahan and Des Keogh.

It became a Video/DVD (Sony Pictures), an international touring show, an off Broadway production, a BBC Radio Series, an Audio Book, and an online event.

Various casts and couplings of the same magical actors have playing with each other it over the last 21 years after Anna Manahan and Des Keogh(nominated for best act at Edinburgh Festival 2001 for his performance) moved on - Mick Lally,  Ann Charleston, Des Nealon, Geraldine Plunkett, Mary McEvoy, Jon Kenny.
