ARE YA DANCIN’? –
A Showband Story written by Carol Gleeson & Helen Spring,
makes its’ highly anticipated national debut at The 3Olympia this summer from Tuesday 27th to Saturday 31st of August with matinees.
The show features a treasure trove of memorable hits to make you “shake rattle and roll”.
Set in Donegal in the 1960’s golden era of music, the story follows Tommy O’Neill, who finds himself at the helm of an up-and-coming showband and as his star rises, he struggles both professionally and personally against the restrictive backdrop of the societal expectations of 1960’s Ireland. You can laugh with him, cry with him but get ready to join him on his journey and relive the music, the magic and the glory of the past, through the knockout songs of the 1960’s and revel in a host of hilarious and memorable characters.
Featuring a LIVE seven piece band, and boasting an impressive thirty-piece cast – the music will bring back memories of your dancing days and the magic of the live dancehall bands.
Musical number includes hits such as “The Hucklebuck”, “Rock Around the Clock”, “If I Could Chose” , “I’m a believer”, “Hit the road Jack” and “From the Candystore” this show will not only pull at your heart strings but also have you dancing in the aisles.
