Celtic Woman

Since its 2005 debut, Celtic Woman has developed from being a TV special  and DVD into a global musical sensation and a formidable multimedia presence and a genuine cultural phenomenon.

In 2005 Michael Scott was commissioned to stage and convert the DVD/TV Special into live stage show.

The rest is history - originally conceived by record producer Sharon Browne and David Downes, genius composer and arranger, as a DVD/Record - its success prompted a first US tour which has now developed way beyond its original idea into a global industry.

The albums and DVD releases are multi-platinum best-sellers, the concert tours  touch the hearts of a devoted audience that spans the globe. Celtic Woman celebrates Ireland's rich musical and cultural heritage, while continuing its legacy of introducing some of Ireland's most talented singers and musicians onto the world stage, reflecting the vibrant spirit of modern Ireland.

The original show repertoire encompasses Irish classics, contemporary songs, classical favorites and stirring originals.

The lineup of performers has evolved in the years since the group's inception, but the signature sound of Celtic Woman has remained consistent, showcasing the members' individual and collaborative talents.

Original rehearsals took place in Dublin at THE FACTORY before moving to the PALACE THEATRE in Cleveland Ohio USA for technical rehearsals. Michael Scott also directed and shot a number of videos which were used on the central screen at various times.

Celtic Woman is comprised of four young Irish women whose performing skills bring centuries of musical and cultural tradition to life. In concert, their angelic voices and instrumental virtuosity are accompanied by a robust ensemble that includes Irish dancers, bagpipers and a full band playing an array of traditional Celtic instruments, including bodhran, tin whistle, bouzouki and Uilleann pipes.
